We are looking for an assembly and repair worker to handle the physical assembly, manufacturing and production of products, including circuit boards, cabling and housings, and to assess, test and repair equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products including circuit boards, cabling and housings; perform testing and quality checks.
• Assess, test and repair equipment as part of the repairs side, with client-specific modifications.
• Work under supervision on some tasks and independently on others, adapting to changing project demands.

We're looking for someone full time and long term.

We are based in Northcote and for over two decades have been servicing everyone from large Hollywood productions and TV stations down to enthusiasts and hobbyists.

Everyone gets our full attention and we pride ourselves on creating long term relationships with our customers. We repair everything from big 18,000W electronic film ballasts to small photography tripods.

In addition to this, our manufacturing arm develops and assembles one of Australia's leading museum and gallery lighting range. We are proud to offer an Australian made product that is highly sought after.

The role involves conducting the physical assembly, manufacturing and production of products, including both generic and customised variants. This includes assembly around circuit boards, cabling, housings and testing. On the repairs side, you will assess, test and repair equipment. The nature of the work means that we are often making modifications for individual clients so flexibility is essential.

On some tasks you will be working under direction and on others highly independently, we are looking for someone who excels in both situations. You will learn a lot of new information very quickly, and who is also able to think on their feet and improvise is important. Changing demands mean that we pivot between projects quickly. In all tasks attention to detail is essential.

Prior experience with lighting is not crucial – we are looking for someone who has a passion for electronics and getting into the nuts and bolts, literally.
