Job summary

La Rumbla Ristorante in Sydney is offering an apprenticeship for a 1st or 2nd year apprentice cook who is currently completing a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or keen to start in the trade.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen with weekend and evening service, learning basic culinary skills, knife work, ingredients knowledge, and use of commercial equipment under supervision, with opportunities to progress as you gain competence.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or full working rights.
• Interest in all aspects of the trade and learning in a busy kitchen.
• Willingness to train in basic culinary skills and knife work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the chef in preparation and cooking of meals.
• Learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
• Work under the supervision of the chef.
• Operate commercial cooking equipment (mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens, stoves).
• Serve food as required and assist in kitchen cleaning and sanitation.
• Assist in other areas of food preparation and storage.
