The Garden Room Cafe Roma St Parkland in Brisbane is seeking an Apprentice Chef to join our busy teams. We operate two venues, with training covering basic culinary skills, knife technique, and knowledge of ingredients.

You will learn in a fast-paced kitchen and gain experience across cafe service and event catering. The ideal candidate is passionate about the food industry, punctual, reliable and flexible to work different shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Apprentice cook training covers basic culinary skills, knife skills and knowledge of ingredients.
• Exposure to commercial equipment and kitchen procedures.
• Experience in canapés, fine dining and event catering is possible.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
• Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
• Serves food when required and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
• Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage.
