Job summary

Downer Australia is seeking an experienced Asphalt Foreman to lead our Hume crew on major civil works. You will supervise the asphalt crew, coordinate daily on-site activities, and ensure high safety standards while delivering quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates will have proven asphalt paving experience, White Card, and flexible availability for day and night shifts. Join a team committed to safety and continuous development.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership on asphalt crew
• Experience as Foreman or senior crew member considered
• Ability to plan daily works and coordinate crew on site
• Strong safety commitment and Zero Harm
• Valid White Card required
• HR Licence preferred
• Willingness to work day and night shifts
• Certificate II or III in Civil Construction advantageous
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to work with crew

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the asphalt crew on site.
• Coordinate daily tasks to keep crew moving safely and efficiently.
• Champion safety and Zero Harm on all operations.
• Liaise with stakeholders and ensure quality workmanship.

Our Hume team is looking for an experienced Asphalt Foreman to join the crew. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows asphalt, can lead from the front and enjoys working alongside their crew to get the job done safely and efficiently.

What you'll bring

• Strong experience working within an asphalt crew
• Previous experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand or senior crew member highly regarded
• Ability to lead, support and coordinate a crew on site
• Sound knowledge of asphalt paving and associated plant and equipmentAbility to plan daily works and keep the crew moving efficiently
• Strong commitment to safety and Zero Harm
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid White Card – essential
• HR Licence preferred
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts
• Certificate II or III in Civil Construction advantageous
• Most importantly, a hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the crew
