Job summary

Downer is seeking a Surfacing Supervisor in Gillman, SA to lead surfacing crews and oversee asphalt and profiling works across projects. You will work in a safety-focused environment, coordinating day and night shifts and travel as required.

The role demands experience in surfacing, road construction and maintenance, with a proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders while maintaining schedule and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead surfacing crews and oversee safe, efficient delivery of asphalt works.
• Coordinate profiling works across multiple projects and shifts.
• Manage day and night shifts, including weekends, and travel as required.
• Mentor and supervise crew members ensuring compliance with safety standards.

We are currently looking for a permanent full-time Surfacing Supervisor to join our team based in Gillman, SA. This role is responsible for leading surfacing crews while overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of asphalt and profiling works across a range of projects. Experience in the Roads Industry, particularly with asphalt and profiling, will be highly regarded. If you are already a Leading Hand or Foreman looking for the next step, this role may be for you!

• Exposure in the surfacing industry, civil road construction and road maintenance
• A positive safety culture
• Successful track record with planning, organising and time management
• Proven experience in identifying opportunities; improvements and solutions to the business
• Recognised ability to lead & drive accountability throughout the workforce
• Demonstrated ability with building relationships with key stakeholders
• Good understanding of the relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations and legislative requirements as applied to the road Industry
• Lead by example and continually promote relevant aspects of Health and Safety when engaging with operational and engineering teams
• Willingness to work dayshift, nightshift and weekends and work away from home
