Downer’s Hume asphalt crew in Canberra is seeking an experienced Asphalt Foreman to lead from the front and work alongside the crew to deliver safe, efficient paving. You’ll supervise on-site activities, plan daily works, coordinate plant and equipment, and demonstrate a hands-on leadership style.

This senior role offers above award pay rates, night shift and weekend allowances, ongoing training and development, and the pride of being a WORK180 Endorsed Employer for All Women.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an asphalt crew on a live site.
• Valid White Card is essential.
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts is required.
• HR licence is preferred but not mandatory.
• Hands-on leadership style with crew collaboration.

Our Hume team is looking for an experienced Asphalt Foreman to join the crew. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows asphalt, can lead from the front and enjoys working alongside their crew to get the job done safely and efficiently.

What you'll bring

• Strong experience working within an asphalt crew
• Previous experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand or senior crew member highly regarded
• Ability to lead, support and coordinate a crew on site
• Sound knowledge of asphalt paving and associated plant and equipment
• Ability to plan daily works and keep the crew moving efficiently
• Strong commitment to safety and Zero Harm
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid White Card - essential
• HR Licence preferred
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts
• Certificate II or III in Civil Construction advantageous
• Most importantly, a hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the crew
