Job summary

Dass Labour Hire is recruiting experienced asphalt crew members for road and pavement works in Canberra. Immediate starts available. You will be laying asphalt, finishing pavements, and supporting joint quality and compaction on a major ACT project.

Ideal candidates have White Card, asphalt crew experience, and the ability to work day or night shifts. Flexible for casual employment with long-term potential.

Qualifications

• White Card (mandatory).
• Experience on asphalt or paving crews.
• Understanding of mat temperatures, compaction, levels and joint quality.
• Physically fit and able to work in heat around hot materials.

Responsibilities

• Lay asphalt and perform pavement works on roads, shared paths and intersections.
• Rake, shovel, screed, join and apply tack coating as part of the crew.
• Work with paver and roller operators on day and night shifts.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards on site.

Job description

Dass Labour Hire is recruiting experienced asphalt crew members for road and pavement works in Canberra. Immediate starts available.

The work:

Asphalt laying and pavement works: road reinstatement, shared paths, intersections and associated civil surfacing

Raking, shovelling, screeding, joint work, tack coating and general paving crew duties

Working alongside paver and roller operators on day and night shifts

What you need

• CPCWHS1001 White Card (mandatory)
• Demonstrated experience on an asphalt or paving crew
• Understanding of mat temperatures, compaction, levels and joint quality
• Physically fit and comfortable working in heat and around hot materials
• Willing to work night shifts and weekend shifts as required
• Reliable, on time, and committed to doing the job properly

Highly regarded

• Roller, paver or skid steer operator tickets or experience
• Traffic control ticket (Implement Traffic Management Plans / Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat)
• Previous civil or rail infrastructure experience
• Own transport and license
