Job summary

Environmental Group Australia is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our new laboratory team in Sydney. The role focuses on asbestos fibre counting and air monitoring, with hands-on training from the Laboratory Manager in a NATA-accredited setting.

The successful candidate will prepare samples, perform PCM fibre counting, and record precise analytical results while following established methods and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• NATA-accredited laboratory experience preferred.
• Following approved technical methods and documented procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare and analyze airborne fibre monitoring samples.
• Perform respirable fibre counting using PCM and report results.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Complete quality-control checks and documentation accurately.
• Follow safety requirements and laboratory procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and team activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
