Atherton Bakehouse in Atherton, QLD is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef/Baker for a full-time, Mon-Fri role at our bakery. You will craft a range of breads, pastries, cakes and more, while managing production schedules and maintaining high quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified in baking or pastry discipline.
• 2–3 years of bakery experience in a professional setting.
• Strong knowledge of dough fermentation, lamination, tempering and decorative techniques.
• Proficient with bakery equipment and machinery; safe operation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods.
• Develop and execute recipes with precision for consistent quality and taste.
• Manage ingredient inventory and place orders to maintain stock for daily production.
• Operate and maintain bakery equipment including ovens and mixers.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards; maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to meet quality specifications.
• Create visually appealing finishes for pastries and decorative items.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production targets and delivery schedules.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior bakers or kitchen staff.
