Job summary

The City of Wagga Wagga's Art Gallery offers hands-on experience across exhibitions, programs and gallery operations. You’ll learn by doing, welcoming visitors and assisting with events while connecting with artists and the broader community.

No prior gallery experience is required; your attitude, curiosity, reliability and genuine interest in arts and people are valued as you gain practical skills and industry connections in a regional gallery setting.

• Above award rates! Commencing salary of $1,721.00 gross per fortnight plus superannuation (at 18 years of age or older), varying rates subject to age and experience as per award provisions.

Your New Role

No two days at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery are exactly the same.

Skills

Working Tuesday to Saturday alongside the Gallery team, you’ll develop practical skills and experience across a variety of activities, including:

• Welcoming visitors and providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
• Supporting front of house operations, retail sales, stock management and reconciliation.
• Assisting with exhibitions, artist programs, residencies and creative learning activities.
• Supporting Gallery events, functions and venue hire.
• Assisting with school, community and engagement programs.
• Learning about artwork handling, collection care, condition reporting and collection data.
• Assisting with Gallery communications, digital content and program information.
• Providing administration and project support across Gallery programs and activities.
• Participating in team and program planning and learning how a professional regional gallery operates.
