Job summary

Retail Data Acquisition Services is seeking an Area Manager to ensure stores meet quality, customer service, merchandising, food, fuel and overall operations standards. You will audit in the field, coach store teams, and implement practical improvements across multiple sites.

The role requires commercial acumen, strong people skills and the ability to identify opportunities for operational enhancement. Prior experience in retail, fast food or auditing is highly valued, with regular statewide

  • Previous experience in retail, fast food, fuel & convenience or auditing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify operational gaps.
  • Experience with standards, compliance, processes or performance.

Responsibilities

  • Champion retail standards across stores, including merchandising, marketing, POS and customer service.
  • Conduct quality, standards, audit and product compliance checks.
  • Monitor compliance across food safety and workplace health & safety.
  • Identify operational gaps and develop improvement plans with Licensees and Store Managers.
  • Coach and train store teams to uphold brand and standards.
  • Complete the full audit cycle and assess effectiveness and compliance.
  • Analyze audit findings and store data, preparing clear reports and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, marketing and store performance and support implementation.
  • Build relationships with Licensees, Store Managers and stakeholders.
  • Support new store openings and field program rollouts.
  • Travel regularly across the state with overnight stays and occasional air travel.

About the Role

As an Area Manager, your focus will be on ensuring stores consistently deliver the required standards across quality, customer service, merchandising, food, fuel and overall store operations.

You’ll spend time in the field conducting audits and assessments, but just as importantly, you'll work alongside store teams to coach, influence and implement practical improvements.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Champion retail standards across stores, including merchandising, marketing, point-of-sale and customer service
  • Conduct quality, standards, audit and product compliance checks
  • Monitor compliance across food safety, safe working practices and workplace health & safety
  • Identify operational gaps and work with Licensees and Store Managers to develop and implement improvement plans
  • Coach and train store teams to ensure consistent brand and operational standards
  • Complete the full audit cycle, assessing operational effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance
  • Analyse audit findings and store data, preparing clear reports and recommendations for stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, marketing and store performance, and support their implementation
  • Build strong relationships with Licensees, Store Managers and internal and external stakeholders
  • Support new store openings and the rollout of field programs and initiatives
  • Travel regularly across the state, including some overnight stays and occasional air travel

  • A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake frequent travel
