Talent by Design is seeking an Area Manager to maintain and grow a territory across Far North Queensland, focusing on Stone Masons, Cabinet Makers, Retailers and Specifiers. The role requires extensive travel across Townsville, Cairns, Whitsundays and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with customers in the specified segments.
• Aim to meet and exceed sales targets through proactive selling and product knowledge.

Our client is a privately owned, high-end building products supplier that has renowned product and has already established itself as a top player in the decorative surfaces industry in Australia. This role is critical for the continual growth and development of the company’s expansion plans. They continue to introduce new and innovative products to gain further market share within Australia.

Role

As the new Area Manager, your primary responsibility is to maintain and develop a territory consisting of Stone Masons, Cabinet Makers, Retailers & Specifiers in the Far North QLD region. This opportunity would suit a dynamic and career driven salesperson that has good exposure to the building products and/or construction sales space and is looking to grow within a business long term.

This role will require high levels of travel due to the nature of the role and the spread of the client base. Ideally you will reside in the Townsville or Cairns region, where majority of the accounts reside. You will also travel to the Whitsundays, Mackay, Bowen, Prosperine etc.

Due to the strength of the training and mentorship available in this position, our client is also open to somebody less experienced that has the right attitude and a willingness to be trained and developed.

Skills & Experience

We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate the following skills and experience;

• Strong presentation skills with an ambitious & outgoing personality
• Experience in Stone and/or Decorative Surfaces is highly desired
• Existing relationships with at least one the desired customer segments in the description above
• Experience within building products/construction sales is a must have
• Proven track record in sales and overachieving targets
• Good technical understanding of the construction industry in general
• High degree of energy, be self‑motivated and desire to be rewarded for your hard efforts
• Stable track record of employment and desire to move into a long‑term career role
