Job summary

ATB Morton, a Newcastle-based construction company, is seeking an Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. You will prepare architectural concept drawings and construction drawings, and contribute to site layouts and documentation.

Ideally you have previous drafting experience in commercial construction, qualifications in architectural design or engineering, familiarity with NCC/BCA codes, and proficiency in Archicad, Twin Motion and Microsoft 365. A valid driver's license is required.

• Qualifications in architectural design, engineering, drafting or similar.
• Knowledge of NCC/BCA codes and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural concept drawings, sketches and construction drawings.
• Follow directions from senior personnel to resolve technical concerns and ensure documentation completeness.
• Prepare architectural drawings showing existing site layouts, proposed layouts, site analysis, floor plans, elevations & sections.

Key Accountabilities

Prepare detailed and precise architectural concept drawings, sketches and construction drawings.

Follow directions from senior personnel to resolve technical concerns, ideas and suggestions as required to ensure completeness of documentation.

Prepare architectural drawings showing existing site layouts, proposed site layouts, site analysis, floor plans, elevations & sections.

An understanding of relevant Acts, regulations, codes and standards and demonstrate their application in a project-specific manner.

Values and Experience

Previous drafting experience or in a similar rolewithin the construction industry, commercial construction will be highly desirable

Hold relevant qualifications in architectural design, engineering, drafting or similar

Previous experience as a Draftsperson, Building Designer, Architect or similar

Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation and NCC/BCA codes

Proficient in software applications including Archicad, Twin Motion & Microsoft 365 suite.

Have a valid drivers license.
