Job summary

Mintern Civil is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson for an immediate start. This full-time, ongoing role is based in Horsham, Victoria, offering 38 hours per week and an in-person work setup.

You will produce detailed drawings, use AutoCAD or Revit, review measurements, and coordinate with architects, managers and engineers to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. Visa sponsorship is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Associate Degree in Building Design or related discipline.
• At least two years of full-time experience as an Architectural Draftsperson.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings: floor plans, elevations, sections and details.
• Develop and update drawings using CAD software, incorporating changes.
• Review site measurements and standards to ensure drawings reflect conditions.
• Liaise with architects, project managers, engineers and construction teams to resolve discrepancies.

Main duties

• Preparing detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections and construction details, from architectural concepts, sketches and project specifications.
• Using computer-aided design software to develop and update drawings, incorporating approved design changes and maintaining accurate drawing records.
• Reviewing site measurements, building requirements and relevant standards to ensure drawings accurately reflect project conditions and design requirements.
• Liaising with architects, project managers, engineers and construction teams to clarify design details, coordinate documentation and resolve drawing discrepancies.

Qualifications and experience

• A relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Building Design, Architectural Drafting or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of relevant full-time work experience as an Architectural Draftsperson.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent architectural drafting software.
• The ability to interpret architectural sketches, specifications and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian building standards and construction practices.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to meet project deadlines.
