Job summary

Adelaide Development Corporation (ADC) is seeking an Architectural Designer with 3–5 years of residential experience to join our in-house Design Studio in Adelaide. You will contribute to design, development and documentation across a portfolio of homes, townhouses and masterplanned communities.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years' experience within residential architecture or related field.
• Tertiary qualification in Architecture or related discipline.
• Strong residential design capability with understanding of proportion, planning, materiality and contemporary housing design.
• Experience developing projects from concept design through planning and documentation stages.
• Good understanding of construction documentation, detailing and residential buildability; desire to continue developing these skills.
• Strong 3D modelling and visual communication skills.
• Experience with ArchiCAD is highly regarded; willingness to learn ArchiCAD if not yet proficient.

Adelaide Development Corporation (ADC) is a design-led property developer delivering premium homes, residential communities and commercial developments across South Australia.

Role Description

We are seeking an Architectural Designer / Graduate of Architecture with approximately 3–5 years of industry experience to join our in-house Design Studio.

Working closely with the Design Manager and senior members of the team, you will contribute to the design, development and documentation of a diverse pipeline of residential projects, including individual homes, townhouse developments and larger masterplanned communities.

The role provides an opportunity to be involved across multiple stages of a project rather than being limited to a single area of production. Depending on your experience, responsibilities will include concept design, 3D modelling and visualisation, planning documentation, construction documentation, consultant coordination and assisting projects through approvals and delivery.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already has a strong foundation in residential design and is looking to broaden their technical and documentation experience while continuing to develop their design capability.

The position is full-time and based in our Adelaide studio, working collaboratively with our design, development, construction and marketing teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Approximately 3–5 years' experience within residential architecture, building design or a related environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Architecture, Architectural Design or a related discipline.
• Strong residential design capability with an understanding of proportion, planning, materiality and contemporary housing design.
• Experience developing projects from concept design through planning and documentation stages.
• Good understanding of construction documentation, detailing and residential buildability, with a desire to continue developing these skills.
• Strong 3D modelling and visual communication skills.
• Experience with ArchiCAD is highly regarded; applicants with strong experience in comparable BIM/design software and a willingness to learn ArchiCAD are also encouraged to apply.
• Working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and South Australian planning and building approval processes.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants including structural, civil, energy, landscape and other project disciplines.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage competing project priorities.
• Confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a small design team and broader development business.
• Australian residential experience is strongly preferred.
