Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a qualified Arborist to maintain and plant trees across parks and streets. You will mentor apprentices, work in a team, and perform aerial pruning, rigging, and equipment operation to keep public spaces safe and attractive.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a 38-hour week, RDOs, 12% superannuation, and ongoing training and development opportunities within Australia's largest councils.

Qualifications

• Qualified climbing arborist with experience in tree maintenance.
• Experience in climbing and rigging.
• Willingness for practical outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Climb and prune trees as part of day-to-day work.
• Carry out rigging and removals of trees.
• Operate chippers and stump grinders to process debris.
• Undertake aerial tree work using ropes and harnesses.
• Use elevated work platforms when required.
• Inspect trees and report defects; maintain equipment.
