We will provide training, support and development opportunities to help you succeed, with the chance to complete a Certificate III in Arboriculture while working with Australia’s leading vegetation management company.

Working across major utility contracts, you’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading equipment and technology.

Qualifications

• Looking to start or progress your career in Arboriculture or Vegetation Management.
• Current Driver Licence is required.
• White Card (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with tree trimming and vegetation management activities.
• Learning safe pruning techniques around powerline infrastructure.
• Ground support for EWP and vegetation management crews.
• Operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Learning to safely use wood chippers and other machinery.
• Implementing safe work practices and site controls.
• Vehicle, equipment and tool maintenance.
• Using tablets and digital technology in the field.
• Developing arboriculture and vegetation management skills through practical and formal training.

Job description

Asplundh has multiple full-time opportunities available across Newcastle for motivated individuals looking to build a rewarding career in vegetation management.

Whether you're completely new to the industry or already have hands-on experience, we'll provide the training, support and development opportunities to help you succeed. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Arboriculture while working with Australia's leading vegetation management company.

Working across major utility contracts, you'll develop specialist skills in vegetation management around critical power infrastructure, using industry-leading equipment and technology. Successful applicants will complete the Certificate III in Arboriculture, through a combination of on the job learning and block training, allowing apprentices to focus on their studies in dedicated training blocks. Part of this training will require travel and periods away from home.

Duties:

As an Apprentice Arborist, you'll work alongside experienced vegetation management crews while completing your formal training. Duties may include:
