Job summary

Summit Open Space Services is offering 10 full-time apprenticeship opportunities in Newcastle. Earn while you learn and study towards a Certificate III in Arboriculture, gaining hands-on experience across tree maintenance and vegetation management.

You'll work with experienced professionals, rotating across sites, with benefits including above award wages, weekly pay, and ongoing mentoring and support. A White Card and a current driver’s licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship towards a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Arboriculture).
• Current driver's licence or working towards obtaining one.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain.
• Strong commitment to safety and a solid work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tree pruning and maintenance activities.
• Ground support for climbing and tree crews.
• Tree planting and vegetation management.
• Weed and vegetation control
• Learn safe operation of arboriculture tools and equipment
• Traffic and worksite safety support
• Vehicle, equipment and tool maintenance
• Apply industry best practice safety standards and environmental principles

We have 10x full-time opportunities available in our Apprenticeship Program based in Newcastle working across our major tree maintenance and vegetation management contracts. You'll gain hands on experience while studying towards a Certificate III in Arboriculture, developing the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career in the Tree industry. With exposure to diverse projects and work environments, no two days are the same.
