Job summary

Rose International is seeking a contingent Audio Render Tuning Engineer to support an AR glasses audio program. You will perform hands-on lab tuning of the speaker system, focusing on render-path DSP tuning using an internal embedded framework and MATLAB tools.

The role requires real-world tuning of micro-speakers, strong acoustics knowledge, and the ability to explain decisions to cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Hands-on DSP tuning on a speaker-type device with real-world tuning experience.
• Experience with micro-speakers or small-format acoustic designs is essential.
• Proven ability to render tuning decisions and explain rationale to cross-functional teams.
• Strong acoustics fundamentals and understanding of frequency response, driver resonance, and cavity effects.
• Experience with HATS/GRAS and audio system testing
• Familiarity with MATLAB-based tuning tools and internal tuning ecosystems

Responsibilities

• Render DSP tuning for AR glasses speaker systems using an embedded audio DSP framework and MATLAB tools.
• Design and apply equalization, dynamic range compression, and limiter parameters to optimize loudness and sound quality.
• Characterize devices; collect frequency response, THD, and impedance data under controlled conditions.
• Generate, compile, and validate tuning profiles for device firmware deployment.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, algorithms, and research teams to align tuning with system requirements.
• Maintain tuning documentation, test reports, and configuration records for iterations and releases.
• Ramp up on internal audio DSP ecosystem and related tooling with support from internal teams
