Job summary

Tassal Operations is seeking an Aquaculture Technician to join the Pond Operations Team at the Proserpine Prawn Farm, based between Airlie Beach and Bowen. The role offers a lifestyle roster (2/2/3) and full-time, fixed-term employment through March 2027.

You will drive a light truck and a tractor with trailer to add minerals to ponds daily, work outdoors in hot, humid conditions, and uphold safety and biosecurity practices. A manual licence is required; forklift licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a current manual drivers' licence and reliable transport.
• Forklift and front end loader licences are preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot, humid and wet environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety (Zero Harm culture).
• Reliability and commitment to work the full prawn season.

Responsibilities

• Drive around the site in a light truck and a tractor with trailer to add minerals to ponds daily.
• Prepare and drive a small truck as required.
• Operate an iPad for farm scheduling.
• Collaborate with farming teams and adhere to WHS, environmental and biosecurity procedures.

Aquaculture Technician - Spreader Driver

We are currently looking for an Aquaculture Technician to work in our Pond Operations Team at our Proserpine Prawn Farm.

Based in a stunning location halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you'll enjoy a lifestyle roster (2/2/3) that gives you plenty of time to explore the beautiful Whitsundays.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position running until the end of March 2027.

In this role, you will drive around our site in one of our light trucks and a tractor with trailer adding minerals to our ponds on a daily basis.

Other Duties can include:

• Preparing and drivng a small truck;
• Operating an iPad for farm schedule;
• Collaborating with the rest of our farming teams;
• Adhering to operating Workplace health and safety procedures, responsible environmental and bio security practices.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A great work ethic, be reliable and committed to work the full prawn season;
• A current manual drivers' licence and reliable transport;
• A Forklift and front end loader licence (preferred but not essential);
• Ability to work outdoors in a hot, humid, and wet environment;
• An exceptional attention to detail;
• Be responsible, able to work unsupervised with a commitment to safety, in line with our Zero Harm culture.
