Qualifications

  • Minimum three years' experience in workplace health, rehabilitation, or related fields.
  • Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Rehabilitation, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end workers compensation and early intervention programs.
  • Lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of psychosocial workplace hazards.
  • Develop and deliver wellbeing, resilience and rehabilitation initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on injury prevention, early intervention and employee wellbeing.
  • Design and facilitate targeted education programs to build organisational capability.
  • Analyse WHS and incident data to identify trends and recommend risk-based solutions.
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of preventative health and wellbeing projects.
  • Facilitate suitable duties and workplace adjustment arrangements between employees, managers and healthcare providers.
  • Prepare case briefs, reports, project plans and sensitive correspondence.
  • Provide practical advice on WHS, rehabilitation and wellbeing matters in a culturally safe and inclusive manner.
  • Contribute to organisation-wide strategies that promote a positive workplace culture and employee wellbeing.

APS6 Senior Officer

Duration: 12 month non ongoing contractLocation: Canberra, ACT
Salary: 99,000 - 111,000k per annum

Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Rehabilitation, Early Intervention and Wellbeing professional to join a people-focused organisation. Working under limited direction, you will lead the delivery of workers compensation and early intervention programs, supporting employee wellbeing and fostering a safe and healthy workplace culture.

This role focuses on proactive injury management, psychosocial risk management, rehabilitation, wellbeing initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. You will work collaboratively with managers, employees, health professionals and key internal stakeholders to improve health outcomes and support organisational capability.

Key Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience in rehabilitation, workers compensation, early intervention and/or organisational wellbeing.
  • Strong understanding of WHS and rehabilitation legislation, frameworks and best practice.
  • Excellent case management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and integrity when managing sensitive matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and influence positive workplace behaviours.
  • Minimum three years' experience in workplace health, rehabilitation, case management, workers compensation, psychosocial risk management and/or organisational wellbeing.
  • Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Rehabilitation, or a related discipline.
