Job summary

Federal Government client in Canberra is seeking an experienced APS6 Procurement Officer to support the commercial team with procurement planning, CPR compliance and contract administration. The engagement is based at Canberra Airport and sits under EL1 supervision.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week) at Canberra Airport, with a 6-month initial contract and potential extensions. A current NV1 security clearance or above is required.

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience supporting Commonwealth procurement activities.
• Sound knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and broader Commonwealth procurement framework.
• Direct experience with whole-of-government procurement arrangements, including mandatory panels.
• Experience preparing Commonwealth procurement and contract management documentation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, written work and deadline management skills.
• Australian citizenship and must hold a current NV1 security clearance or above.
• Desirable: experience with end-to-end procurement evaluations, probity processes and audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement planning and delivery in line with the CPRs and Commonwealth policy.
• Work on whole-of-government panels and mandatory procurement arrangements.
• Prepare procurement plans, requests, evaluation reports and sourcing recommendations.
• Support evaluation secretariat work, probity controls and audit-ready records.
• Conduct market research, liaise with suppliers and help administer contracts.
• Prepare briefs, correspondence, status reports and procurement registers.
