Job summary

CBR Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Case Manager to join a large Federal department within the HR Branch in Canberra. You will manage a diverse caseload spanning employee performance and conduct matters and provide timely, expert guidance to managers and staff.

The role emphasizes early intervention, policy alignment, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to support respectful workplace behaviours and durable return-to-work outcomes. Baseline security clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex employee relations, performance and conduct matters.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make evidence-based recommendations and exercise sound judgement.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate and well-structured documentation.

Responsibilities

• Providing case management support in relation to employee performance and behaviour related matters, working closely with employees and managers to develop and implement strategies to address concerns.
• Providing case management support for Code of Conduct matters, including the coordination and conduct of investigations, procurement, brief preparation and drafting in support of decision makers.
• Managing complaints relating to inappropriate workplace behaviour in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Contributing to the development, maintenance, review and update of the department’s policies and procedures in relation to employee performance and behaviour.
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management.
• Collaborating with colleagues to implement early intervention supports to safe, timely and durable return to work outcomes for employees.
