Job description

Our client is a national organisation delivering important services and programs that make a meaningful difference to people and communities across Australia.

The organisation is committed to building a capable, engaged and sustainable workforce and is currently undertaking an important period of workplace bargaining.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and contribute to a significant people and workplace relations project.

The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for an experienced HR or workplace relations professional to support the organisation’s current enterprise bargaining activities.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working across complex projects, managing competing priorities and bringing structure to work that involves multiple stakeholders.

You will play an important role in supporting bargaining activities, coordinating information and ensuring the work progresses effectively.

With an initial non-ongoing contract of up to six months, with the potential for extension, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting a significant bargaining process within a national organisation.

The Role

As the APS 6 Bargaining Officer, you will provide practical HR, bargaining and project support throughout the current enterprise bargaining process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of enterprise bargaining activities
  • Providing advice and support on bargaining and workplace relations matters
  • Coordinating information, documentation and actions arising throughout the bargaining process
  • Supporting engagement with internal stakeholders and relevant representatives
  • Preparing briefing materials, reports and other supporting documentation
  • Tracking key activities, milestones and deliverables
  • Supporting project management activities to ensure bargaining work remains on track
  • Managing competing priorities and responding to emerging issues
  • Contributing to broader HR and people‑related activities as required
The Ideal Person

You will bring experience in enterprise bargaining, human resources, workplace relations or a related field, together with the ability to manage complex work in a structured and practical way.

You may have supported an enterprise agreement negotiation from beginning to end, or have played a significant role in coordinating bargaining activities, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.

Either way, you will understand the pace and competing demands that come with bargaining and be comfortable working across a range of stakeholders and priorities.

Strong organisational and communication skills will be essential, along with the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgement.

You will be proactive, adaptable and comfortable taking ownership of your work while contributing positively as part of a broader team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an APS 6-level professional who wants to build or further strengthen their experience in bargaining while contributing to a significant workforce project with genuine organisational impact.
