Job summary

The Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts is hiring APS6 officers for the Domestic Aviation & Reform Division. These roles offer hybrid work arrangements across Canberra and other major cities, with opportunities to influence aviation policy and regulation at a national level.

You will join a team delivering policy leadership, regulatory stewardship and program delivery in Australia’s domestic aviation sector, supporting

Qualifications

• Work with independence, subject to limited direction against established priorities, practices and methodologies to deliver quality outcomes.
• Research, interpret and apply legislation, including maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation and international conventions.
• Provide accurate and specialised advice including anticipating problems and contributing to issues management.
• Anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations.
• Assist in strategic planning, program and project management and/or policy development.
• All positions require proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Implement programs administered by the division.
• Develop and apply comprehensive work knowledge, precedent and established legislation, policy, procedures and guidelines to situations involving complexity and sensitivity which require considerable interpretation and analysis.
• Prepare influential advice, reports, papers, and correspondence for Ministers and senior executives.
• Develop and support complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
