Job summary

Velocity Truck Centre Geelong is offering a full-time apprenticeship for aspiring heavy vehicle technicians. You will work closely with seasoned technicians to learn servicing, maintenance and diagnostics on Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso trucks.

Daimler Trucks Geelong is looking for a motivated and curious Apprentice Technician to join our small, tight-knit workshop team.


If you’re passionate about trucks, enjoy getting hands‑on and want to learn from experienced technicians in a supportive environment, this is a great opportunity to kick‑start your career in the heavy vehicle industry.


With a team that has strong experience across Daimler brands and a wide range of other makes, you’ll gain exposure to a variety of vehicles, repairs and real‑world workshop experience throughout your apprenticeship.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Complete a 4-year apprenticeship while earning a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

  • Learn from experienced and supportive technicians who are invested in your development

  • Work across Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Fuso and other truck brands

  • Assist with servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs

  • Gain hands‑on experience using specialist workshop tools and equipment

  • Follow manufacturer procedures and maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop

  • Work alongside technicians and service advisors to understand the full repair and servicing process

  • Build the skills and knowledge needed to become a qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician

About You

You don’t need to have years of experience — we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.


You’ll ideally have:



  • A genuine interest in trucks, vehicles and how things work

  • A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in

  • A strong work ethic and commitment to learning

  • The ability to work well as part of a small team

  • A willingness to attend TAFE and complete the requirements of your apprenticeship

  • A manual driver’s licence, or the ability and willingness to obtain one
