Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field service technician to perform mechanical repair, overhaul and scheduled maintenance of compressed air equipment across Australia and internationally as required. You will diagnose faults with diagnostic equipment, carry out repairs to ensure equipment functionality, and maintain thorough service records while delivering excellent customer service.

Role involves travel to customer sites, working indoors and outdoors, and occasional overtime or weekend work to meet

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of compressed air equipment.
• Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to diagnose issues on-site.
• Proven customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly.
• Valid Australian manual driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical repair, overhaul and mechanical maintenance of compressed air equipment and associated products.
• Identify problems in air compressors and generators through electrical/mechanical fault finding using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform repairs to rectify issues and ensure equipment functionality.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance including inspecting components, cleaning, lubricating, and replacing filters.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers on troubleshooting and usage.
• Maintain accurate records of diagnoses, repairs, maintenance tasks and parts used.
• Travel to customer sites for service calls and coordinate with colleagues as needed.

Job description

• Complete mechanical repair, overhaul and mechanical maintenance of compressed air equipment and associated products
• Identify problems in air compressors and generators through electrical/mechanical fault finding using diagnostic equipment
• Perform repairs to rectify issues and ensure equipment functionality
• Conduct scheduled maintenance, including inspecting components, cleaning, lubricating, replacing filter kits, changing oil, cleaning oil and air coolers, and re-greasing motors
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers on troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and equipment usage
• Maintain accurate records of diagnoses, repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used
• Complete service reports, work permits, and other documentation
• Adhere to safety protocols, complete Job Hazard Analyses, wear PPE, use personal locks and tags for machine isolation, and maintain a clean work environment
• Contribute to company growth and profitability through excellent customer service
• Travel within Australia and internationally as required
• Work indoors and outdoors in construction sites, industrial facilities, or remote locations
• Travel to customer sites for service calls and perform occasional overtime or weekend work
• Coordinate service activities with service, sales, and administration colleagues
• Build and maintain professional relationships with clients as the primary contact for service-related inquiries
