CMV Truck & Bus Derrimut is offering an intensive 4-year apprenticeship training program for a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Technician, Certificate III. You’ll learn to diagnose, overhaul, repair, inspect and test trucks and buses, with access to state-of-the-art diagnostic tools in a modern workshop.

Successful completion leads to nationally recognised accreditation and a long-term career in the automotive industry.

You’ll learn how to diagnose, overhaul, repair, inspect and test a wide range of trucks and buses. As well as working with a range of diesel engines, you will gain experience in electrical systems and brakes. You will be exposed to a modern workshop equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools.

Apprenticeship

We are offering an intensive 4-year apprentice training program, providing theory and on-the-job components as part of their Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology. You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel technician working on Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Truck and Volvo Buses onsite.

Commencement date February 2027

Our training Institute

Our state-of-the-art training institute is located at one of the most modern truck dealerships in the Southern Hemisphere located in Derrimut. You will have full access to onsite parking, lockers, laundered uniforms, café and gym facilities.

The purpose-built training institute delivers on-the-job elements as part of apprenticeship training. The training institute is equipped with the same tools the dealership uses, helping you understand the safe and proper use of the tools you will be utilising daily. Our in-house technical trainers will support you in gaining a TAFE qualification through hands-on experience.
