Job summary

Alpine Nurseries is seeking an energetic Apprentice to join the Production Team in NSW. You will learn to grow and care for plants, combining on-site training with TAFE study to complete a Certificate III in Production Nursery.

This full-time role offers practical, hands-on experience across our outdoor nursery sites. We value a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work outdoors in a team.

Qualifications

• Willingness to attend TAFE as part of apprenticeship.
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing and pulling as required.
• Current driver’s licence or working towards one.
• Interest in plants, green life or environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of growing and caring for plants with experienced horticulturists.
• Complete a Certificate III in Production Nursery through a mix of study and hands-on work.
• Gain experience in plant care, potting, pruning, pest monitoring, irrigation, weed control and machinery operation.

What you'll be doing

As a Production Nursery Apprentice, you will learn all aspects of growing and caring for plants while working alongside experienced horticulturists. You will complete a Certificate III in Production Nursery, combining TAFE study with practical, hands-on learning in the workplace.

You will gain experience in areas including:

Plant care and maintenance

Potting and production

Pruning and plant training

Pest and disease monitoring

Irrigation and watering

Weed control and plant presentation

Nursery machinery and equipment

Workplace health and safety
