Job summary

Green by Nature AU is offering an Apprentice Parks & Gardens position in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. Start your career in horticulture with hands-on training at a leading educational campus, gaining real-world experience under experienced grounds professionals.

You'll learn plant care, garden bed prep, turf maintenance, irrigation operation, pruning, mowing, weed control, pest identification and safety practices, while working toward a nationally recognised Certificate III.

Start Your Career in Horticulture and Landscape Maintenance

Love working outdoors? Take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful green spaces? This is an exciting opportunity to begin a rewarding career in horticulture through a hands-on apprenticeship program based at a leading educational campus in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.

Working alongside experienced horticulturists and grounds professionals, you'll learn the skills needed to maintain high-quality gardens, landscaped areas, sporting facilities and outdoor environments. No previous experience is required, just a positive attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine interest in working outdoors.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll receive on-the-job training, mentoring and structured learning while working towards a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification.

What You'll Learn

As part of our Grounds team, you'll gain practical experience in:

• Plant identification, care and maintenance
• Garden bed preparation and planting
• Turf and sports field maintenance
• Irrigation systems operation and maintenance
• Pruning, mowing and weed management
• Pest and disease identification
• Safe use and maintenance of horticultural equipment
• Workplace health and safety practices

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working outdoors in all seasons
• Has a genuine interest in horticulture, parks and gardens
• Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn
• Takes pride in their work and pays attention to detail
• Can work well both independently and as part of a team
• Holds a current driver's licence (desirable but not essential)
• Has or is willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
• Has or is willing to obtain a White Card

No prior industry experience is necessary. Full training and support will be provided.
