Green by Nature in Brisbane area invites you to start an outdoors career as a Horticulture Apprentice. This four-year program blends hands-on garden work with weekly classroom learning, giving you practical skills and a nationally recognised Certificate III.

You will learn plant care, garden maintenance, irrigation and safety on live sites, with mentoring from experienced horticultural professionals and clear opportunities for progression within the company.

Based in Indooroopilly, our four-year apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with weekly classroom learning, giving you the practical skills and knowledge to build a rewarding career in horticulture.

You'll work alongside experienced horticultural professionals, learning how to care for plants, maintain gardens and green spaces, operate equipment and deliver high-quality results. Along the way, you'll receive ongoing mentoring and practical training while working towards a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification.

Once qualified, you'll have the skills and experience to continue developing your career with Green by Nature, with opportunities to progress into roles such as Team Leader, Site Manager and beyond.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop practical skills across a wide range of horticultural activities, including:

• Plant identification, care and maintenance
• Plant nutrition and fertilising programs
• Pest and disease identification and management
• Irrigation installation and maintenance
• Pruning, transplanting and plant establishment
• Mowing and specialist turf maintenance
• Safe operation of hand tools, machinery and equipment
• Workplace health and safety practices
• General garden and landscape maintenance

About You

No previous horticultural experience is required — we're looking for people with the right attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine interest in working outdoors

• No prior horticulture experience required
• Genuine interest in horticulture, gardening and working outdoors
• Willingness to learn, take direction and develop new skills
• Reliable, punctual and committed to completing your apprenticeship
• Valid driver's licence desirable but not essential
• White Card or willingness to obtain
• Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
• Ability to successfully complete a National Police Check due to the nature of the client site
• Australian citizenship required to satisfy the educational requirements of the apprenticeship
