Job summary

Burnie City Council is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Painter and Decorator to join our Building and Maintenance team. You will learn from experienced tradespeople, gain hands-on experience across Council buildings, and work towards your Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.

You will learn surface preparation, painting techniques and general maintenance in a safe, supportive environment. A National Police Check will be required.

Qualifications

• Year 10 completion is required or desirable.
• Willingness to learn and complete formal training.
• Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn painting and decorating techniques.
• Prepare surfaces and work areas for painting.
• Assist with painting, decorating, repairs and general maintenance.
• Work with experienced tradespeople to maintain Council buildings and assets.
• Complete training in a safe, supportive team environment.
