Job summary

Blacktown City Council is offering a paid four-year Apprenticeship for an Apprentice Painter. You’ll work with qualified tradespeople to prepare surfaces, apply paints, and maintain Council buildings and assets while learning through hands-on tasks and formal study.

In the first three years you’ll complete a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating with on-the-job training; the fourth year focuses on practical experience.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship to learn painting and decorating.
• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating during years 1–3.
• Commitment to safety and following supervisor guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating.
• Apply paints and protective coatings to surfaces.
• Use painting tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with maintenance across Council buildings and assets.
