Job summary

West Moreton Health, Ipswich Hospital Expansion Project, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to provide strategic leadership and coordinate new services for the facility. The role focuses on delivering expert, patient-centred care while meeting legislative standards and community needs.

The Assistant Director of Nursing Ipswich Hospital Expansion Project is responsible in supporting the provision of strategic, commissioning and operational leadership, management and coordination of the new services for the facility. The role ensures the provision of an expert patient focused service that meets the legislative standards of care and needs of the community.

About you

The ideal person for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated high level knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and capacity in leadership skills and management practices to engage and motivate stakeholders to achieve quality patient outcomes and productivity targets.
• Demonstrated commitment to outcome-driven performance and organisational achievement.
• Demonstrated proficiency to work effectively within a leadership team to meet the demands of complex healthcare environments in an isolated health service.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, ability to consult, negotiate, and liaise effectively with (internal and external) key stakeholders, patients, their families and/or carers.
• Demonstrated advanced level knowledge and understanding of the key concepts of national and state health legislation, policies, frameworks and standards.

Mandatory Requirements

• It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment as required by Health Employment Directive No. 01/16
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with Ahpra. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
