Job summary

Tamworth Regional Council is offering an Apprentice Operator – Transport Operations position based in Barraba and Manilla. This entry‑level role provides on‑the‑job training while you study toward a Certificate III in Civil Construction.

You will be mentored by a friendly team, gain hands‑on experience in civil construction, and earn while you learn. A manual C‑class licence and willingness to study are essential. Shortlisted applicants will undertake pre‑employment screening.

Qualifications

• P1, P2 or C Class Drivers Licence (Manual Licence required).
• Higher School Certificate or RoSA.
• Immunisations (or willingness to obtain) for Tetanus, Hepatis A & B.
• Ability to obtain Certificate III in Civil Construction and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in competent and efficient civil construction practices whilst completing studies in Certificate III in Civil Construction.
• Following and interpret instructions as directed by the supervisor.
• Carry out daily routine checks, monitoring and maintenance activities.
