Job description

Overview

Apprentice - Heavy Mobile Equipment at Evolution Mining. Four-year Apprenticeship Program providing hands-on training and a Nationally Accredited Trade Certificate through a Registered Training Organisation. Location: Northparkes Mine (Parkes, NSW) with a 7 days on / 7 days off roster (Dayshift only).

About the role

Your four-year Apprenticeship Program provides hands-on training and guidance from experienced tradespeople, with a Nationally Accredited Trade Certificate. You’ll receive necessary tools, TAFE accommodation and additional support if required. You will support the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment across Northparkes’ underground and surface operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting with servicing and repairing engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose faults and repair mobile plant air conditioning systems
• Learning to diagnose faults in mobile mining equipment
• Supporting preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Maintaining workshop housekeeping and safety standards
• Attending TAFE and completing formal training requirements
• Committing to maintaining health, safety and security standards
• Demonstrating behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining values

About you

You are mechanically minded and passionate about working with vehicles and equipment. You have completed or are completing Year 12, and hold a current Driver’s Licence. You are eager to learn, work safely, and contribute to a team that values excellence and respect. You communicate clearly, follow instructions, and enjoy solving mechanical problems. You’ve shown initiative and a strong work ethic through school, hobbies, or personal projects. You must be ready to take on challenges, grow your skills, and build a rewarding career in mining with Evolution.
