Job summary

gforce invites applications for an Apprentice Fitter and Turner based in Geelong. You will develop precision engineering skills, using a range of tools and equipment, while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification.

The role involves hands-on work with steel and mechanical components, maintaining equipment, and assisting with repair tasks across workshop and refinery environments. Overtime and weekend work may be required as part of the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Reliable, motivated and willing to learn.
• Enjoy hands-on, practical work.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing engineering measurements.
• General machining and precision work.
• Shutting down and isolating machinery and equipment.
• Dismantling, replacing and assembling engineering components.
• Installing and removing bearings.
• Repairing and fitting mechanical components.
• Maintaining and overhauling mechanical equipment.
