Job summary

NEPEAN Conveyors in Unanderra, NSW, is inviting school leavers to apply for a 2027 Apprentice Fitter intake. The fixed-term apprenticeship runs up to four years, blending structured learning with practical workshop experience in mechanical fitting and conveyor equipment.

You will learn to read drawings, assemble and inspect components, and assist with installation, maintenance and repairs while working toward a nationally recognised trade qualification.

Qualifications

• Year 12 completion required.
• No prior mechanical fitting experience required.
• Interest in machinery and how things work.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical components and conveyor equipment under supervision.
• Measure and inspect components with precision tools and follow tolerances.
• Assist with installation, maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment.
• Learn fault-finding and routine maintenance under guidance of qualified tradespeople.
