Job summary

Visy is seeking an Apprentice Electrician at Visy Board Carole Park in Queensland. This full-time fixed-term apprenticeship runs Monday to Friday, 6.30 am to 3.00 pm with overtime opportunities.

You will support the maintenance team, learn electrical maintenance, and complete TAFE studies in a safety-focused environment. You will develop fault finding skills, work with PLC and VSD systems, and grow mechanical competencies while completing your apprenticeship and aligning with lean manufacturing

Qualifications

• Completed Year 12 or equivalent.
• Interest in electrical and mechanical systems and a long-term career in electrical trade.
• Willingness to learn and safety-focused culture.

Job description

As an Apprentice Electrician at Visy Board Carole Park, you’ll develop practical skills in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting while learning from experienced tradespeople in a supportive, safety-focused environment.

This is a full-time fixed-term apprenticeship, working Monday to Friday, 6.30 am to 3.00 pm, with overtime opportunities available. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll support the team in keeping our manufacturing plant operating safely, efficiently and reliably while completing your TAFE studies.

What you’ll do:

• Develop strong fault finding skills in an automated, high speed food packaging environment.
• Frequent exposure to PLC and data based variable speed drive systems and hardware.
• Develop your own mechanical skills due to close working relationships with other trades.
• Attending TAFE and completing coursework to complete your apprenticeship.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing.
