Job summary

Nuservices is seeking Apprentice Chefs & Chefs of all levels to join our expanding team in Newcastle, NSW. Roles include full-time, part-time and casual positions across Local Connections Restaurant, Bar on the Hill and our catering operations.

You will prepare and cook dishes, uphold hygiene standards, contribute to menu development, and collaborate with a busy kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality and catering roles.
• Culinary qualifications or certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A passion for food and a creative approach to cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the menu and standards set by the Executive chef.
• Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the required presentation standards.
• Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items, contributing to the overall culinary direction of the establishment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and available.
• Participate in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
