Job summary

Prestige Staffing Personnel in Wentworth, NSW, is offering a full-time chef apprenticeship in a family-run pub and bistro. You’ll join a small kitchen team, cook lunch and dinner, and work toward your Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

All years welcome with real commitment; you’ll be paid while training, and Prestige consultants will check progress and coordinate with your training provider.

Qualifications

• You'll have a real commitment to becoming a qualified chef and finishing your apprenticeship
• Reliability, because a small kitchen can’t run service one cook short
• The ability to work as a team when service gets busy
• A polite, friendly manner with customers
• Availability for a Tuesday to Saturday roster, including split shifts and evenings
• Your own way to get to Wentworth and to trade school

Responsibilities

• Prepping ingredients and setting up your station before service
• Cooking and plating meals using a range of cooking methods, to the venue’s recipes, portions and presentation standards
• Receiving, rotating and storing stock, and following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
• Using knives and kitchen equipment safely
• Helping out with customer service and getting meals out when needed
• Going to trade school and completing your assessments (paid)
• Your duties grow as your skills and confidence do
