Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre in Cowra, NSW is offering a hands-on Boilermaker Apprenticeship in the agricultural manufacturing sector. Based in Cowra, you will learn heavy fabrication, welding, metal cutting, reading engineering drawings, and assembling components used in agricultural machinery across Australia.

Working with experienced tradespeople, you'll complete a nationally recognised trade qualification and gain exposure to large-scale farming equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must have Year 10 high school completion.
  • Demonstrated ability in MIG welding and welding processes.
  • Experience with reading engineering drawings is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and complete a national trade qualification.
  • Able to work Monday to Friday 7am–3pm in Cowra, NSW.

Responsibilities

  • MIG welding tasks as part of production.
  • Fabrication saw cutting and flame cutting.
  • Rolling, shaping, heating or hammering metal to make parts.
  • Use hand and machine tools and welding equipment.
  • Assemble parts using welding, bolting and riveting.
  • Finish products with cleaning, polishing, or protective finishes.

Based in Cowra, this opportunity allows you to develop practical skills in heavy fabrication, welding, metal cutting, reading engineering drawings, and assembling components used in the production of agricultural machinery and equipment that support farming operations across Australia. Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll gain exposure to the manufacture of large-scale farming equipment while completing a nationally recognised trade qualification. This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving practical problems, and building a long-term career in engineering and manufacturing. Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm in Cowra, NSW

Duties may include:
  • MIG welding
  • Fabrication saw cutting
  • Flame cutting
  • Rolling, shaping, heating, or hammering metal products to produce parts.
  • Using hand and machine tools, welding equipment, and CNC machines.
  • Using various techniques which include welding, bolting, and riveting to align, assemble, and fix pieces together to create parts and structures.
  • Adding finishing touches to products in the form of cleaning, polishing, filing, and adding protective or decorative finishes.
About You:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
  • Completion of Year 10 High School
  • Drivers Licence desirable but not essential
  • Forklift, dogging and rigging and working at heights desirable
  • Willing to undertake police check and pre employment medical if required
