Job summary

KC Custom Fabrications Pty Ltd in Cardiff NSW seeks a Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator apprentice (3rd or 4th year) to join a small, supportive team. You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of fabrication projects, read engineering drawings, and perform MIG/TIG welding while developing safety and workmanship standards.

Eligible applicants must have Australian work rights and be committed to completing a Certificate III in Engineering; we offer above-award pay and career progression

Qualifications

• Must be able to undertake manual/physical work.
• Motivated with genuine interest in fabrication.
• Trustworthy and reliable.
• Able to read/interpret fabrication drawings and apply welding principles.

Responsibilities

• Apply welding principles across projects.

The Role
We’re looking for a Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator - (3rd or 4th Year Apprentice) ready to step up. In this role, you’ll work across a variety of jobs, giving you the chance to apply and expand your skills while working in a friendly, collaborative environment.

Duties will involve:

• Applying welding principles
• Performing engineering measurements
• Welding and fabrication across a range of materials
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Operating workshop machinery and tools
• Assisting in installation and on-site work when required
• Maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards
• Apply principles of occupational health and safety in the work environment

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to undertake manual/physical work
• Motivated with a genuine interest in the fabrication industry
• Be trustworthy and reliable
• Have a high level of attention to detail

About You:

• Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator - (3rd or 4th Year Apprentice)
• Can read and interpret fabrication drawing
• Are confident with MIG and TIG welding
• Have strong attention to detail and take pride in your work
• Work well both independently and in a team
• Are reliable, motivated, and safety-conscious

Suitable applicants must have a genuine interest in pursuing fabrication as a career path, be motivated and willing to work hard to get trade qualified.

The successful candidate will undergo Certificate III in Engineering.
