Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a PhD-level Applied Physicist to shape AI understanding of physical systems by designing open-ended physics problems and rigorous solutions.

You will audit AI simulations and provide expert feedback to improve reasoning about conservation laws and boundary conditions. Remote hourly contract with 10–40 hours per week, requiring strong English communication and a deep mastery of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, statistical mechanics, and quantum mechanics.

Qualifications

• PhD level in Applied Physics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or closely related field.
• Exceptional ability to explain complex physical phenomena and mathematical derivations clearly in English.
• Uncompromising eye for detail: units, notation, dimensional analysis, and proof structure.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently; no prior AI/tech experience required.

What You'll Do

• Design advanced, open-ended physics problems at PhD qualifying exam level — requiring multi-step reasoning and rigorous mathematical derivation
• Author comprehensive "golden" solutions with flawless step-by-step logic, precise constants, and accurate unit conversions
• Audit AI-generated simulations, proofs, and explanations for physical consistency — identifying where models "hallucinate" violations of first principles
• Provide structured, expert feedback to improve AI reasoning around boundary conditions, conservation laws, and physical constraints
• Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

• PhD completed or in final stages in Applied Physics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or a closely related field
• Deep mastery across the core pillars of physics: Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, and Quantum Mechanics
• Exceptional ability to explain complex physical phenomena and mathematical derivations in clear, structured English
• Uncompromising eye for detail — units, scientific notation, dimensional analysis, and logical proof structure
• Self-motivated and consistent when working independently
• No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, scientific dataset evaluation, or quality assurance for research outputs
