Great Southern Bank in Brisbane is seeking an API Engineer to design, build and support secure, scalable APIs that underpin our digital customer experiences. We’re hiring at both junior and senior levels to grow the API capability and ownership across the Bank’s integration services.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building domain APIs using established standards.
• Hands-on API development with Java and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Exposure to cloud deployments and containerised environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and supporting domain APIs using Java, Spring Boot and established API standards
• Applying reusable API patterns to deliver scalable services
• Building automated testing and CI/CD practices into delivery for quality and resilience
• Engineering APIs with observability, monitoring, performance and scalability
• Deploying and supporting APIs across OpenShift and AWS environments
• Integrating APIs with identity and access management for secure authentication and authorization
• Collaborating with engineers, architects, security and platform teams to deliver secure end-to-end solutions
• Identifying opportunities to improve automation and engineering practices
