Job summary

Pinsent Masons LLP seeks a proactive Compliance Analyst in Melbourne to support APAC and international compliance and risk management activities across offices. You will assist onboarding, ensure regulatory requirements are met and help identify risks with cross-border collaboration.

The role emphasizes conflict checks, AML screening, research and information verification, with opportunities to work closely with partners, lawyers and support teams. Mandarin skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Interest in compliance and risk management across APAC and UK jurisdictions.
• 1–4 years' experience in a compliance, risk, administrative or similar role within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong research and analytical skills with ability to gather and present information from multiple sources.
• Experience using intake and compliance systems such as Intapp and World-Check (desirable).
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Professional, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Mandarin language skills (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Conduct conflict checks and clear basic conflicts of interest.
• Perform AML checks in line with legislation and firm policies.
• Undertake business intelligence research using databases and public sources.
• Verify client and matter information provided by partners and teams.
• Implement information barriers where required.
• Respond to compliance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Risk team to analyse and resolve conflicts.
• Participate in team meetings, training and special projects.
