Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking two casual Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Support Workers to provide structured, recovery-oriented support in a Participant-led service in Surry Hills, Sydney. You will work to maintain a safe environment and support daily programs focused on health, education and community engagement.

Minimum Certificate IV or equivalent experience, current First Aid, and a NSW driving licence are required, with AOD experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate IV qualification relevant to the work performed or equivalent experience
• Current First Aid certificate
• NSW drivers licence required
• Experience working with people with AOD and co-occurring issues

Responsibilities

• Deliver recovery-oriented support aligned with TSA policies and procedures
• Implement risk management and safety protocols across activities
• Facilitate daily programs focused on health, education and community engagement
• Collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of care and progress on treatment goals
• Maintain accurate records and incident reports and uphold compliance standards
• Support medication self-administration and conduct drug testing
• Identify service gaps and contribute to continuous improvement
