Randstad is hiring an AO3 Operations Officer on-site in a state government department to act as the operational bridge between administrative systems and workshop environments.
The role involves coordinating machinery repairs, contractor engagements, and facilities audits to keep sites running safely and efficiently. Immediate start and 6–8 months contract; on-site only with no WFH.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a State Government department as an AO3 Operations Officer based on-site in a dynamic operational environment. Working standard day shifts, this full-time contract offers 6 to 8 months of stable work with an immediate start. Serving as the crucial operational bridge between administrative systems and hands-on workshop environments, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating machinery repairs, contractor engagements and facilities audits to keep facilities running safely and efficiently.
Your duties will be tasks including but not limited to...
Maintain and update equipment repair tracking data using computer systems and Microsoft Excel
Inspect workshop tracking directly to assess repair requests for machinery and engage appropriate external contractors
Manage contractor engagements, generate work orders, and process incoming invoices
Collaborate closely with the Operations Coordinator to undertake regular facilities and cleaning audits
Serve as an active, proactive link between administrative staff, trade personnel, and external stakeholders
Demonstrated facilities experience, work order management skills, and basic invoice processing knowledge
Proficiency with computer systems, particularly strong foundational skills in Microsoft Excel
Solid understanding of trades, blue-collar operations, and workshop machinery environments
Ownership of personal protective equipment (PPE), specifically steel-capped boots
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Strong confidence to ask questions on-site and maintain resilience when dealing with workshop personnel and contractors
Competitive pay rate of $51.12/hr + superannuation
Convenient on-site location providing direct, hands-on facility administration (no WFH)
