Job summary

Hawkesbury City Council in Mulgrave is seeking an Animal Shelter Assistant to perform a mix of administration and hands-on duties, including front counter service, cash handling, feeding animals and kennels cleaning.

You will work under the Companion Animals Team Leader, liaise with animal welfare groups, and handle daily transactions within the facility, supported by your Admin experience and a passion for animal welfare.

Qualifications

• Cert II Animal Studies or equivalent experience.
• Sound Administration and Clerical experience.
• Ability to handle/control companion animals.
• Data entry and computer skills using a variety of software programs.
• Experience in cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Front counter operations and customer service.
• Cash handling and daily transactions.
• Feeding animals and cleaning kennels.
• Liaise with animal welfare groups and partners.
• Support daily operations within the shelter.
