Job summary

Change Recruitment is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our established mobile engineering team in Melbourne. The role blends hands-on development with architectural thinking in a large-scale consumer platform, with a hybrid model (3 days onsite).

You'll own the development lifecycle from design and development through to testing, release and production support, collaborating closely with product and design to evolve the platform and its components.

Qualifications

Melbourne | Hybrid – 3 days onsite

We're looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join an established mobile engineering team working across several major initiatives on a large-scale consumer platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who's comfortable working within a mature application, navigating existing architecture and dependencies, and contributing ideas around how the platform continues to evolve.

You'll be working with a strong existing mobile team and will have ownership across the development lifecycle, from technical design and development through to testing, release and production support.

What we're looking for:

• Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Coroutines / Flow
• MVVM, MVI or Clean Architecture
• Experience with large-scale consumer or enterprise applications
• Strong understanding of modular architecture and dependency management
• REST APIs and backend integrations
• Automated testing and CI/CD
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production applications
• Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, product and design
• Comfortable contributing ideas and challenging technical approaches where appropriate

Experience building reusable UI components/design systems, working within security-conscious environments or across complex integrations would be beneficial.
